HydraFacial
A HydraFacial is a non-invasive, multi-step facial treatment designed to cleanse, exfoliate, extract, and hydrate the skin using a patented device. It’s suitable for nearly all skin types and targets a variety of concerns such as dullness, acne, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and dehydration.
Duration: 60 minutes
Down time: None — it’s often referred to as a “lunchtime facial.”
Recommended Frequency: Every 4 to 6 weeks for maintenance or improvement.
Here’s a detailed breakdown of the procedure:
1. Cleansing and Exfoliation
- Step Purpose: Removes dead skin cells and excess sebum.
- How It’s Done: A handheld HydraFacial wand with a spiral tip gently cleanses the skin using a mild exfoliating serum (usually containing lactic acid or glucosamine).
- Effect: Reveals a fresh layer of skin and prepares it for deeper treatment.
2. Gentle Acid Peel
- Step Purpose: Loosens dirt and debris from pores without causing post-peel scaling.
- Serum Used: A mixture of glycolic and salicylic acids (usually in low concentrations).
- Effect: Helps to brighten the skin, soften fine lines, and prepare for extractions.
3. Automatic Extraction (Pore Vacuuming)
- Step Purpose: Removes blackheads, whiteheads, and other impurities.
- Technology: The device uses a painless suction mechanism combined with Beta-HD serum to vacuum out impurities.
- Effect: Leaves the pores visibly cleaner and less congested.
4. Hydration and Infusion
- Step Purpose: Replenishes the skin with nourishing serums.
- Serum Used: Antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, peptides, and botanical extracts.
- Effect: Deep hydration, improved elasticity, plumper and more radiant skin.
5. Optional Add-Ons (Boosters)
HydraFacial offers various boosters tailored to specific concerns:
- Brightalive Booster: Reduces discoloration and evens tone.
- Growth Factor Boost: Improves skin tone and texture with regenerative proteins.
- Dermabuilder: Targets fine lines and wrinkles.
- Rozatrol: Helps calm rosacea-prone skin.
6. LED Light Therapy (Optional)
- Blue Light: Targets acne-causing bacteria.
- Red Light: Reduces inflammation and stimulates collagen.
Back Facial
A Back Facial is a professional skincare treatment specifically designed to cleanse, exfoliate, and treat the skin on the back, an area that’s often neglected and prone to issues like acne, dryness, and clogged pores. It follows many of the same techniques as a traditional facial but is tailored to the skin and structure of the back.
Benefits of a Back Facial:
- Deep cleansing and detoxifying
- Smoother skin texture
- Treatment of back acne (bacne)
- Reduced inflammation and breakouts
- Relaxation and improved circulation
Duration: 60 minutes
Here’s a step-by-step detailed description of a typical back facial:
1. Consultation & Skin Analysis
- The esthetician discusses your skin concerns (e.g., acne, oiliness, dryness, scarring).
- A brief skin analysis is performed to determine your skin type and the appropriate products/treatments.
2. Cleansing
- The back is thoroughly cleansed using a gentle, sulfate-free cleanser to remove surface impurities, oil, and sweat.
- Often, a double cleanse is performed to ensure deep removal of debris and makeup residue (if applicable).
3. Exfoliation
- A physical scrub, chemical exfoliant (like glycolic or salicylic acid), or a combination of both is used to remove dead skin cells.
- This helps unclog pores, smooth texture, and prep the skin for further treatment..
- In some cases, a steam treatment is used to open up pores and soften skin.
4. Extractions (if needed)
- Manual extractions are performed to remove blackheads, whiteheads, and acne congestion.
- The esthetician uses sanitized tools and gloves to prevent skin trauma or infection.
5. Massage
- A relaxing massage with oil or lotion is given on the back, shoulders, and neck.
- This helps improve circulation, reduce muscle tension, and enhance relaxation.
- For clients with acne-prone skin, a shorter or oil-free massage may be used.
6. Mask Application
- A mask tailored to your skin concerns is applied:
- Clay mask for oily/acne-prone skin.
- Hydrating mask for dry or sensitive skin.
- Brightening or anti-inflammatory masks for hyperpigmentation or redness.
- The mask is left on for 10–15 minutes before being removed with warm towels.
Toning
- A toner is applied to rebalance the skin’s pH and tighten pores.
- It may contain soothing or acne-fighting ingredients, such as witch hazel, tea tree oil, or rose water.
Moisturizing & Treatment
- A lightweight or hydrating moisturizer is massaged into the skin, locking in moisture.
- For acne or pigmentation issues, spot treatments (with benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, or brightening agents) may be used.
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are dermatological treatments that use chemical solutions to exfoliate and remove layers of the skin. The goal is to improve the skin’s appearance by treating issues like acne scars, pigmentation, fine lines, sun damage, and uneven texture. Peels range from superficial to deep, depending on the strength and type of acid used.
Types of Chemical Peels:
1. Superficial Peels (Light Peels)
- Penetration: Only the outermost layer (epidermis).
- Acids used: Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) like glycolic acid, lactic acid; beta hydroxy acid (BHA) like salicylic acid.
- Benefits: Brightens skin, smooths texture, unclogs pores, treats mild discoloration and acne.
- Downtime: Minimal; mild redness or flaking for 1–3 days.
- Use case: Monthly maintenance, acne, mild hyperpigmentation.
2. Medium Peels
- Penetration: Epidermis and upper dermis.
- Acids used: Trichloroacetic acid (TCA 20–35%), Jessner’s solution, glycolic acid (at higher concentrations).
- Benefits: Treats fine lines, moderate acne scars, melasma, and sun damage.
- Downtime: 5–7 days of redness, peeling, and sensitivity.
- Use case: Corrective treatment for visible skin damage.
Microneedling
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that involves using fine, short needles to create microscopic punctures in the skin. These controlled micro-injuries trigger the body’s natural wound healing processes, stimulating collagen and elastin production—two key proteins responsible for youthful, smooth, and firm skin.
Beneifts of Microneedling:
- Stimulates collagen and elastin production.
- Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Improves skin texture and tone.
- Minimizes acne scars, surgical scars, and stretch marks.
- Reduces pore size.
- Enhances absorption of skincare products.
- Fades hyperpigmentation and sun spots.
